Is Social Marketing in Your Future?

Posted under Conference, Uncategorized on May 1st, 2008

One of the recurring themes at this year’s CMA conference is the potential of social marketing to transform your business.  LinkedIn, Facebook, and other social marketing sites are drawing the attention of conference attendees.

But what the heck is social marketing? Is it real or just a fad? And can it benefit me even if I’m not a big wig with a big budget?

Well, we have an exclusive audio interview with Conference exhibitor Jason Alba, the author of “I’m on Facebook . . . Now What?”  Jason helps make plain sense of what can be confusing for a newbie and shows us how we can leverage the powerful potential of social marketing.

You can download a higher quality version of the interview by clicking the link at the right.

Conference Kicks Off in Style

Posted under Speakers/Presentations on April 30th, 2008

Normway Room SignThe 2008 CMA Conference kicked off with a gala reception and town meeting at the Radisson Plaza Hotel in downtown Minneapolis.  And hey, its wasn’t even cold, not even for this California boy!  (Hi around 60).

However the locals say that will change in the days ahead, and they won’t let us leave without a little chill.

CMA Director Liz Sumner chaired the town meeting, which included some terrific, provocative results on the CMA’s recent survey of its members.  View of town meetingThere was alot of terrific discussion, including the unveiling of the location and date of next year’s conference.

And I would have brought you a video interview with Liz herself, except my jet lag began kicking in (up since 4 this morning).  Hopefully, we will get that in tomorrow.

But the conference space is beautiful, and it looks like we are in for an amazing 2 1/2 days of inspiration and terrific information.

Special Event - Dinner at Azia Restaurant Friday 5/2

Posted under Special Event on April 16th, 2008

The Career Management Alliance Conference is just two weeks away, and I’m concentrating on the most important details- good food and partying on Friday night!azia.jpg

Members tell us that the Special Event is always a highlight of the conference. The best ones involve dinner, a convivial atmosphere, and an opportunity to relax with new and old friends. I think we’ve found the perfect choice-the award-winning Azia Restaurant and Caterpillar Lounge. Here’s how they describe it–

“Reimagine fusion! Asian spice meets Minnesota Nice! As one critic states, ‘Sacred Asian art meets James Bond chic.’ Let Chef and Owner, Thom Pham, take you on a culinary adventure ranging from traditional stir frys, to a North Woods Walleye in Jalapeno-Basil sauce, to a perfectly braised tenderloin topped with an exotic Asian mushroom demi-glace. When you visit, chances are good that Thom himself is on site, and hosting every guest as though he’s invited them for a private dinner party. In fact, fundamentally he has. ”

Check out their website at www.aziarestaurant.com.

We’ll have a group dinner party, with a mouthwatering menu selected for us and served family style. For those who want to stay on afterwards there’s music in the lounge. The price is $45.00 for dinner, transportation to and from the restaurant, tax and gratuity. (Beer, wine, and cocktails not included).

Everyone’s invited! Make your reservations now at: https://monkey.he.net/%7Ecareerma/reg-conf.php. Email liz@careermanagementalliance.com or call 603-924-0900 x640 if you have questions.

The 5-minute Passive Revenue Advisor

Posted under Exhibitors on April 10th, 2008

Its Rob Schultz of Audacious Audio, with another Passive Revenue Product Tip.

I had a great time speaking (and listening to the other powerful Conference presenters) at the Pre-Conference Webinar this past Wednesday.

Missed it? No problem. Click the video play button below for a 5 minute replay of my Passive Revenue segment.

You will discover:

  • The Power of Leverage
  • Why multiple profit streams are so crucial
  • The difference between direct profit boosters and indirect profit boosters and why you need both.
  • A hot tip on how you promote your products online without hiring a web designer or having to know html yourself
  • My secret tip on finding scores of provocative product ideas. Its easy, fun, and leverages the genius of highly paid copywriters (without having to pay them!)

Have fun with it. And I’ll see you at the conference.
