5 Career-Management-Relevant Things I Learned about Aging at the CMA Conference

The first 4 of these items came from Richard Leider’s phenomenal keynote presentation; the last one came from Caitlin Williams’ session on working with “third-quarter” clients:

  1. A million people a day worldwide turn 65.
  2. Every 8 seconds, someone turns 50.
  3. Retirement has tanked as Baby Boomers refuse to grow old and quit working.
  4. 70 percent of aging is optional; the rest is genetic.
  5. A great beginning to assisting Boomers with career management is to listen as they tell their stories.
